Individual Yoga Therapy
If you are on this page, there may be something you wish to change in your life, or perhaps you wish to enhance a state of well-being.
Whether you're dealing with an injury, illness, stress-related symptoms, life transitions or need support with the challenges of the aging process, yoga therapy empowers you to be in charge of your own well-being.
According to the International Association of Yoga Therapists:“ Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of Yoga.”
Yoga Therapy differs from yoga because it focuses on the whole person and not just one's physicality. Clients are involved in their yoga therapy sessions and have an opportunity to listen deeply and discover inner resources, and integrate this wisdom into their daily life.
Every session is unique and is created around your goals and how you show up. No prior yoga experience is necessary. A yoga therapy session supports you right where you are.
Our bodies process and internalize all of our life experiences, without our conscious awareness, and eventually these experiences becomes stored in our body's tissues.
Unprocessed thoughts and feelings affect our physicality and are held in habitual patterns in the body. A yoga therapy session works with conscious & unconscious beliefs, which are often at the root of pain. What is happening to your body is happening to your life. Your life is unfolding in your body.
I facilitate a 6-week small group online yoga therapy course. If you are interested in the next one, let me know. Details will be listed on the Events Page soon.

Private Yoga Sessions
Yoga Session rates: 1 hour $65;
package of 6 for $330
Private Yoga Sessions
Yoga was traditionally taught by one teacher directly to one student. The ancient yoga teachers understood the importance of individualizing each yoga experience to meet the need of the individual student.
I offer one-on-one private yoga sessions out of my home studio. Private yoga sessions are different than yoga therapy. Our focus is a specific (usually physical) goal, such as to decrease back pain, increase strength and mobility after surgery, or practice bone strengthening yoga for osteoporosis. These sessions work at your ability and pace, tailored to your needs.
I have specialized training in the following areas:
-Yoga for seniors, chair yoga & adaptive yoga
-Yoga for bone health & persons with osteoporosis
-Yoga for grief and loss
-Yoga for mental wellbeing – those experiencing anxiety and depression
-Trauma informed yoga
-Yoga for persons recovering from illness or major surgery
-Yoga for back pain and back health
-Yoga for persons with MS
-Yoga for chronic pain
Before your first session, you'll complete an intake form, so I can learn about your goals, your lifestyle, previous experience with yoga, and any injuries or illnesses. I want to learn how I can help you. If you are completely new to yoga. We will start at the beginning.
I have taught yoga classes of many different styles for 17 years, and have taught private lessons to seniors, persons with chronic illness & physical disabilities, yoga teachers, and athletes.
Your sessions are designed around your goals - every session is unique for you.

Private Pilates Reformer Sessions
The Pilates Reformer apparatus is the missing link for yoga practitioners and anyone wanting to build whole body strength – and see results! I swear by it, and would love to share it with you!
With regular training on the Pilates Reformer, you will improve:
-
Whole Body Strength -particularly abdominals, back, glutes, thighs & shoulders
-
Flexibility
-
Balance
-
Coordination & Proprioception
-
Posture & Body Alignment
Here is WHY the Pilates Reformer is one of the most intelligent ways to train your body:
-
It challenges your entire body in a whole new way - especially your core: Every part of the Pilates regimen revolves around the core. Founder Joseph Pilates referred to the core as the “powerhouse,” the abdominals, lower back and pelvic floor musculature that, when activated, provide a solid base of support for steady movement.
-
You control the resistance - You can do squats lying on your back without putting stress on your knees and without needing to balance.
-
It works muscles in all 3 ways: Concentrically, Eccentrically, and Isometrically.
-
It’s versatile: There’s endless ways to build strength.
-
Zero impact on your joints + non-weight bearing— meaning you don't have gravity challenging your joints.
-
Full range of motion -The reformer helps you extend your muscle through its full range of motion. This gets the entire muscle working, not just a portion of it.
-
It’s FUN - There are so many creative ways to move and challenge your body!
